Types of Oral Surgery
At Buffalo General Dentistry, we are proud to offer the following oral surgery procedures:
Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction is a very common surgical procedure in which the tooth in question is removed from the root. Patients may need a tooth extraction if a tooth is damaged or decayed beyond repair, or if room need to be made for erupting permanent teeth. During your tooth extraction, a mild sedative can be used to keep you comfortable. The entire tooth will then be removed before the cavity remaining is cleaned and sutured closed.
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom tooth removal is another very common surgical procedure many of our patients require throughout their lifetimes. Wisdom teeth are molars that typically don’t begin to erupt until a patient’s late teens or early twenties. When these molars do begin to appear, they may cause the teeth to shift drastically and cause a great deal of discomfort. During your wisdom teeth removal, you may receive sedation to keep you comfortable. Your wisdom teeth will then be surgically removed before the remaining cavity is cleaned and sutured closed.
