Mild sedation, also called oral sedation or conscious sedation, involves our patients taking a sedative pill prior to their dental procedure with Dr. Jammal. This sedative, taken either the night before or morning of your procedure, will allow you to stay calm and relaxed throughout the duration of your procedure. While our sedation dentistry patients at our Amherst clinic do remain awake during their mild sedation, they may not remember the details of their appointment with us. This is normal and shouldn’t cause any alarm. Dr. Jammal and his team will ask that you have someone drive you home from your appointment with us if you are receiving mild sedation for your dental procedure. Dr. Jammal may suggest mild sedation for patients as a dental anxiety treatment option for our Amherst patients who are anxious about tooth extraction, root canals, crowns, and more.
